Healing Sound Bath

Sound Bath Details

A Sound Bath is a deeply-immersive, full-body listening experience that intentionally uses sound to invite gentle yet powerful therapeutic and restorative processes to NURTURE YOUR MIND AND BODY.

The experience begins with each person lying down or seated in a comfortable position, often with a blanket and an eye mask. After a few minutes of guided focus on the breath, the remainder of the experience is filled with different sounds and frequencies being introduced in succession. The sounds are created by a variety of overtone-emitting instruments, including tuning forks, gongs, shruti box, Himalayan and crystal singing bowls, chimes, and voice.

When you sink into a Sound Bath and guide your awareness to your listening, you allow your brain waves to slow, shifting from a more active state to a more relaxed state or even a dreamlike state.

The sounds introduced during a Sound Bath are an invitation into a deeper state of consciousness, an opportunity to unplug from external stimuli, and to gain perspective on what’s going on within you. The goal of the experience is to invite deep rest and relaxation and explore self-inquiry and self-discovery.

Meet Your Hosts

Dr. Robin Sargent

Founder and President of IDOL, LLC, IDOL Talent, LLC, 

Dr. Robin Sargent is the founder of IDOL courses, the trade school that serves clients through IDOL Talent while developing the next generation of creative learning designers. Born from her own experience of navigating the complexities of a career transition to corporate instructional design and online learning, IDOL courses aims to help IDOLs start, grow, and lead in the learning and development industry.

In addition to running her own authorized trade school and boutique staffing agency she has a passion to help other entrepreneurs in the L&D industry. Dr. Robin teaches and cohosts the eLearning Freelancer Bootcamp with Christy Tucker and Dr. Nicole Papaioannou. An 8-week intensive for those that want to start and scale their own eLearning business.

As the owner of a multi-million dollar authorized vocational school and staffing agency, Dr. Robin helps entrepreneurs translate their vision and great ideas into actionable plans and results. She specializes in systems that scale so the owner can work on the business instead of in it.

Dr. Robin is a keynote speaker and author of, “The Do It Messy Approach: A Step-by-Step Guide for Instructional Designers and Online Learning Developers (IDOLs),” a detailed guidebook and formula for designing effective courses on any topic. When she’s not working, you’ll find her caring for her husband and three boys, paddling on the lake, or traveling the world.

Dr. Nicole Papaioannou

Founder and CEO of Your Instructional Designer, LLC 

 Dr. Nicole Papaioannou Lugara, Ph.D. describes herself as an academic gone rogue– a former English professor turned entrepreneur. In 2017, she founded Your Instructional Designer, a learning and people development agency, specializing in social learning networks and digital strategy.

Since then, Dr. Nicole has had the privilege of helping hundreds of learning and development professionals level up through Your ID’s learning platform, The Upskill Experience, as well as her participation as a faculty member in the IDOL courses Academy and co-founder of the eLearning Freelancer Bootcamp. She has been an invited speaker for TLDC, The Learner Persona Summit 2020, Anchored in Learning Summit 2022, and will be speaking at ATD’s 2023 International Conference & Expo.

In addition to her work in the corporate learning and development industry, she is a co-founder at REAL | Recovery Education and Applied Learning, a learning platform for parents of children with stigmatized illnesses.

Her mission is to make learning that matters™.

And while all this sounds quite serious, at heart, Dr. Nicole is mostly a playful goofball who enjoys giggling with her toddler and dancing like no one is watching. She is looking forward to building bonds and making magic happen during the L[earn] Getaway.

Vanessa Alzate

Founder and CEO of Anchored Training, LLC

Vanessa Alzate is the Founder and CEO of Anchored Training and the Anchored ID Collective. Anchored Training is a custom learning and development agency that specializes in helping organizations use principles learned on social media such as TikTok and apply them to their training. Anchored Training was born in 2018, 4 months after Vanessa had her second daughter… in one year! The Anchored ID Collective is her newest venture born out of a need for a community space for learning and development professionals looking to build community and learn more about business to elevate their careers and lives. While Vanessa loves talking all things learning and development, what has really brought her joy has been talking about building a business and the challenges women, specifically mothers, face trying to “do it all,” and break into the “boy’s club.”

Vanessa has been hitting the conference circuit talking a lot about TikTok and what we can learn from this social media platform. You may have seen her speak at conferences such as ATD International Conference and Expo (2022), ATD Techknowledge (2022), Learning Solutions (2022), DevLearn (2022), The Learner Persona Summit (2020), various TLDC events, or at her own, Anchored in Learning Summit. Or maybe you’ve seen her passion for social media on TikTok on one of her two accounts: @vanessaanchored or @anchored_training.

A lover of all things 90s, leopard and sparkle, Vanessa is a New Jersey native with an affinity for all things New Jersey, including her alma mater, Rutgers University, and the NJ breakfast staple: pork roll, egg and cheese. She currently serves on the executive board of her International fraternity, Delta Gamma, as the Council Trustee: Alumnae, an organization of 250,000+ strong. When she is not trying out the newest TikTok trends or coaching one of her team members, you can find her running around town with her two daughters, and bugging her husband to move to Miami.

What kind of things will we be doing during the getaway?

Our getaway brings together a unique combination of WORK + PLAY! The Horseshoe Farm Getaway is more “PLAY” with lots of opportunities for connection, adventure, and enjoying being unplugged from your business.

The workshops and group coaching sessions with your hosts will primarily focus on vision, goals, clarity, and hitting your business l[earn]ing potential.

The group excursions will be on-site, so if you enjoy nature, water, spa services, and serenity, you’ll be in the right place. That said, group activities outside group coaching and masterminds are voluntary, so you can opt-out of anything you’re not into. 

We’ll also have “free time” for you to enjoy the estate, the pool, the river, the woods, or even hit the spa!

The precise agenda will be shared with confirmed participants shortly before the getaway.

Is this getaway right for me?

Our getaway is specifically designed for women entrepreneurs and business owners with existing, established businesses.

This is NOT a good fit for pre-launch businesses, part-time entrepreneurs, MLMs, or those with less than 2 years in business.

What's included in the retreat fee? What is not included?

The retreat fee includes:

  • All retreat sessions facilitated by Vanessa Alzate, Dr. Robin Sargent, and Dr. Nicole Papaioannou Lugara
  • Three meals plus snacks and non-alcoholic beverages (you are welcome to bring your own alcohol), 
  • Three days of WORK + PLAY at Horseshoe Farm in Asheville, North Carolina, 
  • Four nights of accommodations at Horseshoe Farm,
  • Swag bag full of goodies and gifts from your hosts,
  • Private Facebook Group to connect with other attendees,
  • And all group excursions.
  • You are responsible for your travel and any spa experiences at Horseshoe Farm.

When should I arrive and leave?

You may arrive by car directly to the address or you can fly into Asheville, North Carolina and arrange your own transportation to and from the Horseshoe Farm.

We recommend arriving early on Monday so you can enjoy the resort and meet us for the 4:00 pm welcome reception. Our last group activity will be Wednesday night, so you’re welcome to book your travel home anytime on Thursday. 

What hotel should I book?

You don’t have to worry about booking hotels or accommodation. We’ll all be staying on the Horseshoe Farm and it’s included in your L[earn] Getaway ticket price.

How many people will be attending the retreat?

The retreat is open to a maximum of 30 women entrepreneurs. Spaces are filled on a rolling basis. Hurry to reserve your spot! We expect this retreat to sell out!

What is the refund policy?

If we cancel, you get a 100% refund. If you cancel, here’s what to expect.

After 48 hours, we are unable to refund your money because your spot will be reserved and paid for at Horseshoe Farm, and we need a firm headcount. 

 

No exchanges are allowed and funds may not be applied to a future retreat. 

 

The cancellation policy above applies ONLY to the L[earn] Getaway ticket price. Please refer to the airline, car rental, etc. website for their cancellation policy, as you will book your travel arrangements directly with them. 

Do I get my own room?

You are guaranteed your own bed in one of the Horseshoe Farm houses. However, space is limited! If you want to ensure you get your own room it will be an extra charge of $500 that you can add at the time of registration. If you register late, you may have to share a room with another Learn Getaway participant.

Why are we hosting this?

To enhance our community of female entrepreneurs with in-person connection, alongside a mix of work + play. There is a preconceived notion that the hustle is all work + no play. We want to squash that. Making the hustle a happier process can improve all aspects of a woman’s life. 

We’ve built the L[earn] Getaway based on our own transformative experience.

In September of 2022, Dr. Robin, Vanessa, and Dr. Nicole spent a long weekend at the Jersey Shore together– a meeting of business buddies from the internet. With no true agenda in mind, we toured the city, did some silk acrobatics, ate delicious food, visited “The Jersey Shore” house, and had an absolute blast together. And in the process, magic happened: growth, ideas, and decisions about our business had been made in a short time and mostly by accident. It was simply a by-product of being surrounded by the infectious vibrance and encouragement of a group of ambitious women who don’t judge you for wanting more out of life. We realized that this is the type of retreat like-minded women need! The combo of vacationing with other business owners creates organic growth and inspiration without effort, and it is fun! We look forward to sharing this experience with you, our founding L[earn] Getaway participants.
